๐ŸŸ Experience perfectly crispy salmon bites with a creamy, spicy-sweet bang bang sauce that’s ready in just 20 minutes
๐ŸŒถ๏ธ Transform simple salmon into restaurant-quality appetizers or main dishes with minimal effort and maximum flavor

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

– 1 1/2 pounds salmon main protein

– 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil helps seasonings stick and encourages light browning

– 1 teaspoon paprika adds color and mild warmth

– 1 teaspoon garlic powder savory depth without fresh garlic prep

– 1 teaspoon kosher salt seasons the salmon throughout

– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper brightens and balances flavors

– 1 cup mayonnaise base for the bang bang sauce

– 1/2 cup Thai sweet chili sauce sweet-spicy component and signature flavor

– 2 teaspoons Sriracha adds heat

– 2 tablespoons honey softens heat and adds shine to the sauce

– Chopped chives fresh, mild onion flavor and color

Instructions

1-First Step: Mise en place Remove skin from 1 1/2 pounds of salmon and cut the fillet into 1-inch bites. Pat the pieces dry with paper towels; removing surface moisture helps the exterior brown in the air fryer. Preheat your air fryer to 390ยฐF while you season.

2-Second Step: Season the salmon In a large bowl combine 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon kosher salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. Gently toss the salmon pieces to coat evenly, taking care not to break the bites apart.

3-Third Step: Make the bang bang sauce In a separate bowl whisk together 1 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 cup Thai sweet chili sauce, 2 teaspoons Sriracha (adjust to taste), and 2 tablespoons honey until smooth. Reserve about half of this sauce for drizzling at the end; use the rest to toss with the salmon before cooking so each bite picks up flavor.

4-Fourth Step: Arrange and air fry Place seasoned, sauced salmon bites in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding to allow hot air to circulate and create crispy edges. Air fry at 390ยฐF for 4-5 minutes per side, flipping gently halfway through. Cook until the internal temperature reaches between 140-145ยฐF and the exterior is lightly crisp.

5-Fifth Step: Finish and serve Remove the salmon bites from the air fryer and immediately drizzle with the reserved sauce. Garnish with chopped chives for color and fresh flavor. Serve hot over rice, in lettuce wraps, on salads, or as party skewers.

6-Oven alternative If you do not have an air fryer, bake at 400ยฐF on a parchment-lined sheet for about 16 minutes, flipping halfway. Do not sauce the salmon before baking to prevent burning the sugars in the sauce. Toss the baked bites in sauce after they come out of the oven.

Notes

๐Ÿฅซ Prepare the bang bang sauce up to 1 week ahead and refrigerate for even quicker meal prep
๐Ÿ”ฅ Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket – cook in batches if needed to ensure crispy edges on all salmon bites
๐ŸŒก๏ธ Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness – salmon is perfectly cooked at 140-145ยฐF for moist, flaky results
