2/3 cup quick cook oats
1/2 cup milk
1 lightly beaten egg
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 cup sweet and spicy barbecue sauce plus extra for serving
Instructions
1-First Step: Preheat your oven to 400ยฐF (204ยฐC). Line a large baking sheet with foil, arrange the bacon evenly, and bake for 18-22 minutes until crispy.
2-Second Step: Drain the bacon on paper towels, chop it into 1/4-inch pieces, and reserve 1 tablespoon of bacon grease. Then, reduce the oven temperature to 350ยฐF (177ยฐC).
3-Third Step: In a bowl, combine the ground beef, cooked bacon, oats, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Mix well by hand or with a spoon.
4-Fourth Step: Shape the mixture into a loaf on a foil-lined baking sheet.
5-Fifth Step: Blend the barbecue sauce with the reserved bacon grease and brush it evenly over the meatloaf.
6-Sixth Step: Bake for 65-70 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165ยฐF (74ยฐC). Let it rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing and serve with additional barbecue sauce if desired.
7-Seventh Step: For vegan or gluten-free versions, make sure to integrate the appropriate substitutes during the mixing step.
