๐Ÿณ Experience the comforting taste of classic Southern breakfast with sausage gravy and fluffy biscuits.
๐Ÿฅž This recipe provides a savory, rich gravy that perfectly complements warm homemade biscuits for a hearty start to your day.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

– 8 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 pound pork sausage (hot or mild as preferred)

– 2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon flour (18 grams)

– 2 1/2 cups half and half (600 milliliters) or whole/2% milk

– 1 tablespoon butter (14 grams)

– 1/8 teaspoon thyme

– 1/8 teaspoon rosemary

– 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

– Black pepper to taste

– Salt to taste

Instructions

1-Cook the sausage in a large saucepan and use a paper towel to remove most of the grease for a lighter result.

2-Add the flour, butter, and half and half to the pan, then cook over medium-low heat while stirring frequently until the gravy thickens, about 5 minutes.

3-Mix in the thyme, rosemary, crushed red pepper flakes, black pepper, and salt to taste, adjusting for your preferred spice level.

4-Serve the hot sausage gravy right over warm, flaky homemade biscuits, and if you like, add roasted potatoes or eggs for a heartier plate.
