πŸ”₯ These Cheeseburger Pretzel Bombs offer a fun and flavorful twist on classic pretzel bites, perfect for gatherings or game day treats.

  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 14 pretzel bombs

Ingredients

– 1 lb pizza dough, left out at room temperature for 15-20 minutes

– 7 slices American cheese, cut in half

– 14 frozen mini meatballs, thawed

– ΒΌ cup baking soda

– 5 cups water

– 1 egg, beaten

– Coarse sea salt

– Yellow mustard for serving

Instructions

1-First, preheat the oven to 425˚F (220˚C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Then, cut the pizza dough into 14 evenly sized pieces and stretch each into an 8-inch long strip. Next, place a piece of cheese at the top of each dough strip, add a meatball, and roll up to fully encase the fillings, sealing any gaps tightly.

2-After that, bring 5 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan, add ΒΌ cup baking soda, and stir until dissolved, then return to a boil. Boil the dough balls in batches for 20-30 seconds, stirring gently, before removing and drying on paper towels. Place them back on the baking sheet, brush each with the beaten egg, and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.

3-Finally, bake for 15-20 minutes until the outside is browned, and serve warm, with yellow mustard if desired. This method takes about 50 minutes total, including 30 minutes for prep and 20 minutes for cooking.
