1 (9-inch deep dish) unbaked pie pastry Forms the crispy base

2 eggs Binds the mixture

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Provides rich chocolate flavor

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

3/4 cup butter, softened

1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Scoop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream for serving

Instructions

1-Preheat your oven: Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F to get everything set for baking.

2-Beat eggs: Beat eggs in a large mixing bowl on high speed until they are foamy and pale in color.

3-Beat in flour and sugars: Beat in 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup packed brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract until well mixed.

4-Beat in butter: Beat in 3/4 cup softened butter until the mixture is fully combined.

5-Stir in chocolate chips and nuts: Stir in 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts if you’re using them; the batter will be thick at this point.

6-Spoon mixture into pie shell: Spoon the mixture into the pie shell, making sure it’s evenly distributed.

7-Bake the pie: Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until the top turns golden brown and a knife inserted halfway between the edge and center comes out clean.

8-Cover if needed: If needed, cover the pie with aluminum foil toward the end to keep the crust from over-browning.

9-Cool and serve: Cool the pie on a wire rack, then serve it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream or enjoy it at room temperature.
