– Approximately 1/4 cup granulated sugar for rolling and garnishing

Instructions

1-Start by preheating your oven to 350ยฐF (177ยฐC) and lining two baking sheets with parchment paper to avoid any sticking issues.

2-In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar on medium speed for 2 to 3 minutes until it’s light and fluffy this step is key for that tender texture everyone loves.

3-Next, beat in the egg, egg yolk, milk, vanilla extract, and almond extract until smooth, making sure to scrape the sides of the bowl as needed for even mixing.

4-Now, in a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.

5-Gradually add these dry ingredients to the wet mixture on low speed until a soft dough forms, taking care not to overmix.

6-Once that’s done, fold in the red and green jimmies sprinkles evenly to spread that festive color throughout.

7-Scoop 1 ยฝ to 2 tablespoons of dough per cookie, roll into balls, and then roll each ball in granulated sugar for that extra crunch and sparkle.

8-Place them 2 inches apart on your prepared baking sheets.

9-If you have time, chill the dough for 1 hour to 3 days before baking to keep the cookies from spreading too much.
