๐Ÿฅ“ Savor the crispy and cheesy goodness of these Bacon Grilled Cheese Roll Ups, perfect for quick and tasty snacks.
๐Ÿง€ Easy to prepare and packed with flavor, these roll ups are great for breakfast, lunch, or a delicious appetizer.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 8 roll-ups

Ingredients

– 8 thick slices of soft white sandwich bread

– 5 ounces (150 grams) finely grated cheddar cheese

– 8 thin slices of cooked bacon (can substitute with wafer-thin ham or omit for a plain cheese version)

– 2 tablespoons melted butter (or as needed)

Instructions

1-Slice off the crusts: Slice off the crusts from the bread and flatten each slice using a rolling pin.

2-Sprinkle cheese: Sprinkle a couple of pinches of the finely grated cheese on the flattened bread, leaving a small portion at the end for brushing with butter.

3-Add bacon: Place a slice of bacon on the edge of the bread closest to you (if using).

4-Brush and roll: Brush the very end of the bread with melted butter, then tightly roll the bread with the fillings inside. Place the roll-ups seam-side down.

5-Brush rolls with butter: After preparing all the rolls, brush them all over with melted butter.

6-Cook rolls: Heat a dry non-stick pan over medium heat and place the roll-ups seam-side down. Rotate them using tongs until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides, with the cheese just starting to leak out. Cook in batches if necessary.

7-Serve: Serve warm, paired with soup or as part of a savory breakfast. For a tasty pairing, try it with our roasted tomato basil soup recipe for added flavor.

Notes

๐Ÿž Use thick, soft white sandwich bread to prevent cracking when rolling.
๐Ÿง€ Finely grate cheese or use very thin slices for smooth rolling.
๐Ÿณ Pan-fry roll-ups seam-side down to ensure they stick and prevent unraveling during cooking.
