๐Ÿž Experience the perfect blend of sweet and savory with this Hawaiian Roll French Toast recipe, featuring soft, fluffy rolls soaked in a rich egg mixture.
๐Ÿฅ“ This quick and easy dish pairs beautifully with fresh fruit and syrup, making it an irresistible breakfast or brunch option.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

– 1 (12 pack) of sweet Hawaiian rolls

– 3 large eggs

– 3/4 cup half and half (or whole milk)

– 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 2 tablespoons brown sugar

– A small pinch of salt

– 4 tablespoons butter (salted or unsalted)

– Powdered sugar for topping

– Fresh fruit for topping

– Syrup for topping

Instructions

1-Crack the eggs: Crack the eggs into a large bowl and add the half and half; whisk until fully combined.

2-Add the vanilla extract: Add the vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, brown sugar, and salt; whisk again to mix thoroughly.

3-Use a toothpick or skewer: Use a toothpick or skewer to poke several holes in the bottom of each roll to help absorb the egg mixture.

4-Soak a few rolls: Soak a few rolls at a time in the egg mixture for about 30 seconds, taking care not to soak too long to avoid mushiness.

5-Heat a non-stick skillet: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat.

6-Add 2 tablespoons of butter: Add 2 tablespoons of butter to the pan and let it melt; add more butter for each subsequent batch.

7-Cook the soaked rolls: Cook the soaked rolls in the pan, turning every 30 seconds to brown all sides until golden.

8-Serve immediately: Serve immediately, dusted with powdered sugar and topped with fresh fruit and syrup. A side of salty bacon pairs well for balance.
