  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breast (cut into bite-size pieces)

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 cup cornstarch or all-purpose flour for coating

2 tablespoons olive oil for cooking

4 tablespoons butter

3 minced garlic cloves

1/3 cup honey

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

1 tablespoon soy sauce

Fresh oregano or Italian parsley for garnish

Instructions

1-First, cut 1 1/2 lbs of boneless, skinless chicken breast into bite-size pieces and season them with 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. Next, coat the pieces in 1/4 cup cornstarch or all-purpose flour for that crispy texture we all love. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan over medium heat and cook the coated chicken for about 8-10 minutes until it’s golden and crispy.

2-Once the chicken is ready, it’s time to make the sauce. Add 4 tablespoons butter, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1/3 cup honey, 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon soy sauce to the pan. Let this mixture cook and thicken for around 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. For a thicker sauce, remove the chicken from the pan and cook the sauce separately before combining them again.

3-Finally, garnish your honey chicken with fresh oregano or Italian parsley and drizzle with extra honey if you want an extra touch of sweetness. Serve it hot, and enjoy how the sweet glaze brings everything together. This method keeps things simple yet flavorful, ideal for home cooks building their skills.

Notes

๐Ÿ‹ Use freshly squeezed lemon juice instead of bottled for the best bright, fresh flavor that balances the sweetness of the honey
๐Ÿณ For a thicker glaze, remove the chicken after cooking and reduce the sauce separately before combining – this prevents the sauce from becoming too thin
๐Ÿ”ฅ Reheat leftovers in a skillet over medium heat rather than the microwave to maintain the crispy texture and prevent the chicken from becoming soggy
