  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 to 6 servings

Ingredients

– 8 ounces American cheese slices

– 4 ounces Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese (or just cheddar), cubed or grated

– 2/3 cup milk (whole milk preferred)

– 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream

– 3 tablespoons chopped canned jalapenos

– 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin

– 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

– 1/4 teaspoon chili pepper

Instructions

1-Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) or prepare a stove-top burner for melting.

2-In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar, cream cheese, diced green chilies, chopped onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until fully blended. Now, add the chopped jalapenos, jalapeno juice, and seasonings as per the recipe.

3-Transfer the mixture into an oven-safe dish or a saucepan if using the stove.

4-Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes or heat on low, stirring frequently until the cheese is melted and the mixture is bubbly and smooth.

5-For dietary adaptations, swap in plant-based cheese or adjust spices as needed.

6-Remove from heat and serve warm, garnishing with fresh herbs if desired. Pair with tortilla chips for that classic dip experience.
