Ingredients
– 4 ounces diced jalapenos (canned and well drained or fresh roasted)
– 8 ounces softened cream cheese
– 1 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt as a substitute)
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
– 3/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
– 1 cup panko bread crumbs
– 4 tablespoons melted butter or margarine
– 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
– 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
1-Preheat your oven to 375°F and prepare a baking dish by lightly greasing it. Wash the jalapenos and slice them into thin rings, removing seeds for less heat if desired.
2-In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well blended.
3-Fold the jalapeno slices gently into the cheese mixture, ensuring even distribution of heat and flavor throughout the dip. For vegan or low-calorie adaptations, substitute ingredients accordingly at this stage.
4-Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
5-Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes until the top is bubbly and golden brown. Adjust time slightly if using alternative cheeses or dietary substitutions.
6-Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs or extra jalapeno slices if desired. Serve warm with crackers, tortilla chips, or vegetable sticks.
