🍞 Enjoy exceptionally soft and buttery dinner rolls that make any meal feel special and comforting.
🧈 These homemade rolls are easy to make and perfect for serving warm with butter straight from the oven.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 22 minutes
  • Yield: 24 rolls 1x

Ingredients

Scale

45 cups all purpose flour (This forms the base, giving structure and that perfect soft crumb to your rolls.)

2 tablespoons Rapid rise instant yeast (It helps the dough rise quickly for that light, airy feel.)

1/3 cup Granulated sugar (Adds a hint of sweetness and feeds the yeast for optimal rising.)

1 teaspoon Salt (Balances flavors and enhances the overall taste of the rolls.)

1Β½ cups Warm milk (110 degrees F) (Provides moisture and richness)

5 tablespoons Butter (softened) (Delivers that signature buttery flavor and tenderness)

1 Egg (room temperature) (Adds richness and helps bind the dough for a softer texture.)

2 tablespoons Melted butter (for brushing) (Gives the rolls their glossy finish and extra flavor.)

Instructions

1-First Step: Gather 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of rapid rise instant yeast, 1/3 cup granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 1/2 cups warm milk at 110 degrees F, 5 tablespoons softened butter, and 1 egg at room temperature. Combine them in a stand mixer with a dough hook, mixing on low speed until everything incorporates smoothly.

2-Second Step: Increase the mixer to medium speed and let it go for 2 minutes to develop the dough. Then, add 1/2 cup flour and blend it in, followed by another 1/2 cup flour, mixing for 2 more minutes until the dough starts to form. If needed, add up to the remaining 1-2 cups flour gradually until the dough pulls away from the bowl sides this takes about 10 minutes total prep time.

3-Third Step: Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 30 minutes in a warm spot. Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into 24 even rolls, placing them in a greased baking dish for that second rise of another 30 minutes.

4-Fourth Step: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F and bake the rolls for 12-15 minutes until they’re golden brown. Keep an eye on them around the 12-minute mark to avoid over-browning total cook time is just 12 minutes.

5-Final Step: Pull the rolls from the oven and brush them right away with 2 tablespoons of melted butter for that extra soft finish. Let them cool a bit before serving, and enjoy the fruits of your 1 hour 22 minutes of effort, including rising time.
