๐Ÿ This Sweet Chilli Pineapple Sauce combines tropical pineapple juice with a spicy kick, creating a perfect balance of tangy and sweet flavors.
๐ŸŒถ๏ธ Versatile and easy to make, this sauce enhances everything from fried appetizers to grilled meats with its vibrant taste.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: About 2 cups

Ingredients

– 1.5 cups white sugar

– 1 cup pineapple juice

– ยฝ cup rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar

– 1 tablespoon minced garlic

– 1 to 2 tablespoons red chili flakes

– 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup (optional)

– 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

– 2 tablespoons cornflour

– 4 tablespoons cold water

Instructions

1-Combine sugar, pineapple juice, vinegar, and salt in a large heavy-bottomed pan, then bring it to a boil for a solid base.

2-Add chili flakes, minced garlic, and optional ketchup, letting it boil on medium heat for 5 minutes to blend the tastes.

3-Mix cornflour with cold water to make a slurry, then lower the heat and stir it into the sauce slowly to avoid any lumps building up.

4-Cook on low heat until the sauce reaches your preferred thickness, keeping in mind it will get even thicker as it cools.

5-Let the sauce cool completely before you bottle it up for the fridge, ensuring it stays fresh and ready for your next meal.

Notes

๐Ÿ Substitute pineapple juice with plain water for a milder flavor; adjust sugar accordingly.
๐ŸŒถ๏ธ Use fresh red chili peppers finely minced as a substitute for chili flakes to control heat.
๐ŸŒฝ Cornflour and cornstarch can be used interchangeably for thickening the sauce.
